Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

What is/are your favorite RV magazine(s)?

There are many RV magazines out there on the market; Motorhome, Trailer Life, Highways, Today's RV, Family Motor Coaching, to name a few.

What one's do you find the most helpful, enjoyable and why?

I get all of the above and a few others because of my incurable RV addiciton and find tech articles and travel stories to be among my favorites.  Gaylord Maxwell and Bill Graves are my favorite columnists.  The 10 minute tech articles are always interesting, too.

When I'm done with the magazines, I drop them off at my local RV dealer for the customer lounge.  Who knows, maybe one of the sales reps might read an article and actually learn a little something aobut the RV's he sells!

Best Regards!

RE: Whar is/are your favorite RV magazine(s)?

I only keep two magazines now, although I have subscribed to or purchased as many as 6 a month. The 2 we get regularly are FMCA and Highways. The Highways articles often mirror the other magazines.

The magazine I enjoy the most is published by our membership campground group.

1. Escapees magazine - written mostly by people like us

2. Gypsy Journal (http://www.gypsyjournal.net/ ) - a lot of fun to read, but don't get it if you are easy to offend.

It I had to narrow it down to one, it would be the Escapees, but we do enjoy Highways magazine.  We still get Trailer Life and will keep getting it for awhile, but the other two are more relavent to our lifestyle.

Oh yeah, I forgot.  I get the Gypsey Journal, too.  I had the honor of meetin Nick and Miss Terry last January at Quartzsite.  He has a great sense of humor and I enjoy it in his paper, he calls 'em like he sees 'em.

Best Regards!

I get Motorhome, Highways & Camperway Northeast edition. It seems most of the interesting tips are repeated in all three. But at least after reading it 3 times it sinks in & I'm more likely not to forget!

We get Motor Home, Highways, and Escapees.  I like all three, but am starting to like Escapees most.  We're in the process of ridding ourselves of stuff in preparation for going full time next year, and the Escapees magazine seems most relevant to us now.

I like the tech tips, action lines, and general "living in your RV" hints.

Happy traveling,

Ellie

There is a brand new magazine coming out in Jan07 called "RV-Xtreme Magazine" (www.rvxtreme.com). Seems to be a quite a bit of a different flavor than the rest so I am not sure what to expect. I have subscribed and will advise on the first issue.

We still subscribe to Motorhome, FMCA, Highways, and Escapees. We pick up RV Journal when we're in the west. My favorite is Escapees. I scan all of them and go online to save specific articles when possible. But I read 90% of the Escapees magazine. Most of the articles are geared to fulltimers and seem "real life" to me. My least fave would be FMCA but it comes with membership. There's too much space devoted to national and chapter affairs which are not our cup of tea.

Joan: Escapees magazine is available as a free PDF download off the Escapees website, you just need a MYSKP id.  No need to scan those articles as long as you have the ability to download a 15MB pdf file.

Of course as a computer guy I interpret "scan" as "use a scanner to save an image to my computer".  If you meant "scan" like "I scan through the article titles and read the ones that sound interesting", then that is something completely different.

Funny...:)  By scan I meant to "eyeball". I did download Escapees once and then forgot I could do that so thanks for the reminder...seriously. Guess I had a brain fade on that one.

Motorhome Mag has nice PDF files for most articles so I save the travel ones on the computer in a "state by state" folder. Then when we reach that state I pull out info. I have a file box filled with years of Motorhome articles that I collected while we were "dreamin" and if I got my act together I could scan (computerese) all those into my computer folder...and gain space!!
