Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Delaine,

It is a wonderful bunch of people!  The forums were and still are a huge help when needing fulltimer information.  The Escapees Club is one we say is a must for all fulltimers or wannabes.

The two campgrounds that we have visited have been top notch and we keep hearing that the rest are just as good.

We must love this group or we wouldn't be considering the CARE program for when we are too old to travel any longer.

If you are not a member, do it!  Oh and don't forget to mention Howard & Linda Payne SKP#88487 sent you.

I don't have my hopes real high that they will fix the shower.  I am keeping my fingers crossed.  I will be sure to let you know.

WE were Escapee's several years ago when my DW was a Traveling Nurse and really enjoyed it. It was really great having an address on the longest street in the country. Mail service was excellent. And the CG's we visited were also great. There's a really big one near us in Congress AZ. Though we are no longeer members we will be rejoining sometime next year. As soon as DW pulls the pin and retires we are outahere. The Winters are absolutely wonderful here in Phoenix but the Summer's here are a little on the warm side. Today the temp at 3pm was 96 an climbing, an tomarrow over 100. Oh BTW, we are Park Hosts at a County Park since last July an hope to remain here till April 2013. What a great job.

Yes, we too encourage every new RVer we meet to join Escapees if no other club. The knowledge is freely shared (very much like this forum) amongst the members and their whole focus is to support RVers of all shapes, sizes and financial abilities. It doesn't matter what size, when or where you want to RV -- Escapees is there to encourage and support your dream to get there.

We will be putting the house up for sale in the Spring and once that happens will be joining escapees and going to thier boot camp. I have not ever driven a fifth wheel and a bit scared and thought thier boot camp would be perfect for me. Hubby on the other hand will most likely be bored out of his mind due to the fact he has driven and pull just about everything you can think of. But he said he would go thru it with me and help me. Let's face fact....I gotta know how to do it cause if he's sick it will rest on my shoulders. I don't want to learn something like that in a already stressful situtation. "Be prepared!" isn't that what the boy scouts motto is?

Driving an RV is not the only aspect of the Escapees boot camp. It is two days of information about all of the systems in an RV including electrical, plumbing, hitches, towing, backing, tires, fire safety-at our session we had Mack the Fire Guy do his presentation. It is a lot of info in a short period of time. Even though we were in our second rig and had been doing weekend and vacation trips for 6 years we still learned some new stuff. We were glad we went.

Your very right Jim Dean! and I even though I have camped since I was a kid from tent's, truck campers to motor-homes there is always so much to learn! I know some things but that is from watching hubby work on stuff and handing him tools. Not sure if I could do it myself without a video or step by step instructions. I was interested in Mack the Fire Guy too, never thought about fire safety for my camper before! Already just learning tons of stuff for full timing compared to camping. I am looking very forward to the Boot Camp and learning as much as I can from them. Also becoming part of the whole full timing family!biggrin
