Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

This makes me nervous

Thinking about if or when we'll work on the road and have always considered Amazon a possibility. Even if this idea of Amazon's does not come to fruition, I think any idea of ever working for them is done.

Read it, getting closer and closer to George Orwell's writings of "1984". Sure pleased that I'm finally retired; Medically, not the way I planned. I was hoping to be a bit more financially sound, but thats what happens when imposters get your account numbers!

RVing can be economical. Federal CGs with senior pass, eat modestly in your RV, drive slow etc. Fear not, move forward.

During my working life I was assigned to a number of locations where tracking badges were worn at all times on the job, usually for safety and/or security reasons. The tracking also allowed management to better place employees for more efficient work flow under changing conditions. I don't recall anyone ever saying they felt the oversight was unwarranted or intrusive. From my read, Amazon's technology may be eligible for a patent, but employee location tracking badges/systems are nothing new.

pickers and stowers carry handheld scanners that they log into while working. Messages are sent over the scanner and pretty sure they could pinpoint the location relatively easily so this doesn't seem like anything "new". Frankly, in an emergency, this would be pretty handy. Those warehouses are huge and loud, doubt if all employees could hear a fire alarm should one sound and in this day of mass shootings in the workplace I would welcome the early warning should it occur.
Amazon is not for everyone, you can work other places and make the same amount....gate guarding, sugar beet harvest, etc. Happy travels and good luck on your adventure.
