Sewer hose replacement

After two years of full time use, our Rhino Hose Flex developed a pin hole leak. It has served us well despite being stepped on a couple times. We cleaned up the dump station and headed off to buy a replacement.  I wanted a 15 foot Rhino Extreme, but Camping World only had a 10 foot extension ($35) or 20 foot kit ($75) in stock. The clerk reminded me that Rhino hoses can be cut and the ends reattached. So, I bought the 10 foot Rhino Extreme and decided to reuse a section of my Rhino Flex.  I stretched out the old Rhino Flex, capped off one end, and filled it with water.  Wow. Water started spraying from three different locations and the side split open.  I guess I had not fully stretched it out or pressureized it to that extent. I was able to salvage about 4 feet, cut it (wire cutter needed), and reattach the ends.  It mated well to the Rhino Extreme and works, but I'm going to keep my eye on it. From what I saw, it appears the plastic has degraded like most due when exposed to the sun.

I like the original Rhino Flex better, since it does not unravel when used. The Extreme and similar models from other companies expand and fall off the sewer hose support, while the original stays the length set. Just my preference. You can usually get them at Wal-Mart.

I didn't even think of that.   I have three different types and pieces now to experiment with.  I did like the Flex, just thought the Extreme would be more robust.

Good morning,

We're prepping a piece of property we own with an 5W pad, sewer, water, and power, and need to know what size septic tank connection I need to have installed on the septic tank. Is there a standard connector size found at most RV parks? Is there a standard sewer hose connection size?

All information will be appreciated.

Wayne

Common sizes are 3 inch, 3.5 inch, and 4 inch connections. The majority I have found are 4 inch connections. Recommend you use a threaded connection.
