Instant Pot - considering a purchase

Consider this a non-scientific poll For those of you with an Instant Pot, how long have you had it and if you have had it for a while are you using very often? Also, do you recommend the 5, 6 or 8 qt size??

Once a week or more. 6 qt is perfect for us. Love it.

I don't have one, but there is a Facebook group for the IP. You might look there for some input.

Have had mine for two years and love it. We are part-time fulltimers, so when living in the 5er, I use it multiple times a week. When we are in the house, I still use it at least once a week sometimes more. I use multiple functions, sometimes in cooking one dish, such as the sauté, followed by the pressure function and then on the warm function during serving. I have the 6 qt. Definitely worth the money and space.

We have had our 6QT a little over a year. We use it once per week on average I would guess but could certainly use it more.

Dale and Ruth,

Jo decided that she wanted a pressure cooker after seeing one that one of her sisters had.  However, for storage purposes and because of cooking mostly just for the two of us, she decided she wanted a 4 quart one instead of larger one.  She found one by GoWISE that suits her, and she really does like using it.  Instead of having to cook beans overnight, she can do them in a couple of hours with the GoWISE.  It is listed as a 6 in One model.  Neither of us have any idea of quality comparisons between the Instant Pot and the GoWISE.

Got my 6 qt before Christmas and use it about every two weeks - but then I don't cook every meal in the rig either. I love it, was worth making room in the cupboard for, and there are a million recipes everywhere.

The one-pot options are especially good for us.

We have the 6 quart and love it. We have had it for a couple of months. You may want to consider getting some stainless steel stackable inserts to cook pot in pot (when cooking more than one item at once or when you don't want the liquid to get into your food).

We just purchased our instant pot and used it that night to make pork tenderloin.  It was good but I always buy flavored one and with putting in the recommended liquid it lost some of the flavor.  Only used it once and I am on the fence.  But, I hate change so not sure.  With more cooking and time it may become my go to

Update: We did buy the 6 quart and I LOVE it. We've used it quite a bit, very happy that we've finally found a way to make really good, fall off the bone ribs!! Still trying new recipes frequently.

We have had our 6qt. Instant pot Ultra for about 2 weeks now and love it. Rice is easy, just made a Dulce de Leche Cheese Cake that was easy easy. Made beef stew, Honey Garlic Chicken and a delayed start Oatmeal which was ready when we woke up.

I am happy we bought ours.

When considering (or reconsidering) an electric pressure cooker purchase, it's crucial to keep in mind that there is no one Instant Pot.

How do you clean it when in the RV, it seems like there is always a mess when we are done? I don't like to pour any food particles down the sink.

 Tom and Sondra,

I would venture to guess that with most of us, we tend to wipe out any cooking utensils, bowls, and dishes with food particle into the trash.  I tend to wipe until the plate/bowl is almost clean from the wiping, and then it goes to the sink for washing.  If at all possible, we don't put any food particles down the sink, and in fact, the wife even cleans her smoothie cup by washing in a separate bowl and letting the residue become more liquefied, and then it is disposed of in a manner other than down the sink.
