Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

End of a beautiful journey !!!!!!!

Well it has come , my time to pull over and leave the road.........it was a great journey and now I have these memories to hold onto......my medical battles have gotten to the point of me feeling unsafe to continue driving this big toy around and it has gotten tougher for me to even move about physically.

I got lucky and bid on a house with a beautiful yard and creek in the backyard in Dalton Mass......right down the road from the falls so I think I will be happy in the peaceful environment Ive always seeked and just putter away with my signs!!

I will still be out here in the background........Ive learned and enjoyed everyone of you !!!.........thanks for being part of it !!

Lucky Mike, You know it goes without saying that you are well loved and respected here on this site and we hope you continue to share your great wit and wealth of knowledge. Dalton MA is a wonderful town located on the edge of the Appalachian Trail, you will love it there. Who knows, if Howard decides to take on the journey maybe he just might stop in for some trail magic. Wishing all the best, each and every day.

Lucky Mike, thanks sooooo much for your words of wisdom on this forum. Hope you do stay around and continue to be part of this family. The new home sounds lovely and I truly admire the fact that you made the decision for your safety and others regarding when it was time to make this change. 3 winters in AZ and we have seen too many who haven't shown the common sense to know when it was time to choose a safer mode of travel.

Thanks again for all the knowledge you have shared and the laughs☺☺

Mike,

Needless to say, our prayers and thoughts will go out for you.  Sad that you have to leave the lifestyle, but we're happy that you plan to still hang around and offer wisdom and advice to those of us on the RV Dreams forums.

Good luck in all your endeavors.

Terry

Mike, thanks for all your wisdom and humor. It takes a wise person to recognize when it is no longer safe to be on the road and to voluntarily hang up the keys. We'll keep praying for you and watching for your (frequent) posts.

Lucky Mike just because it's time to leave the road doesn't mean it's time to leave us on the forum...keep posting please. I'm glad you found a great home to spend your time in and make your signs.

Mike, 1st and foremost, THANK YOU SIR. I'm willing to bet, you have no idea the amount of people you have not only helped, but also made laugh on here. I'm hoping you stay on this site and share, otherwise your knowledge and wit will be truly missed. It's a hard decision to make when the big word of "reality" of life sets in, something we all have to face when the time comes. Dalton, and that corner of Mass. is a real nice area. It is also where they make the paper to print money on, maybe you can figure a way into the place and get a few sheet of it. I wish you the best in the next chapter ahead of you, I really do hope you stay here with us and continue to share. I'll be looking you up for a sign.

Best wishes on the next stage of your journeys and as others have said, stick around and still be part of the forum. You k now you still have lots to offer.

Mike,

Sorry to hear that your health status has come to the point that you have to "pull over," but I'm glad you found a pace to stop that you really like. As others have said, please stay with us on the forum - we enjoy having you around.

Rob

To paraphrase a well known saying... You can take the man out the RV but you can't take the RV out of the man.  Glad you will still be hangin' round these parts to share your keen insight and perspective on all things RV and on human nature.  We look forward to your next coffee snorting, laught out loud post that just make one's day.  Your creative solutions to problems people in this community face is welcome by us and others.

We never met and yet we, somehow, are familiar.  Take care and stay in touch with this part of your "family".

Take care Mike. Put a parking pad in with some power and water, and you'll keep enough visitors if you want.
Stay on the forum and keep sharing all the great knowledge!

It sounds as though you found a lovely place to retire from your life on the road. Enjoy! Please don't be a stranger here on the forum. As others have said, your knowledge, wisdom and amazing humor would be sorely missed. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts with us.
Best wishes, Mike

Mike, I just want you to know how much I have appreciated you over the years, I don't post much here anymore, mostly because of you (and other great members) giving me such great advice and support. When I first joined, You were one of the first people to welcome me to the group, when I found you all, almost 4 years ago. Thank you!

I echo what so many others have already said, your humor is something we all associate with you and your comments, more than once I have laughed out loud reading your responses to some of the posts. I wish you all the very best in your transition to your new chapter and beyond, enjoy your S&B and come back often with your wisdom/wit. We are all headed in the same direction

Thanks for your sage advise over the years. It should be obvious that your kindness has touched the lives of many. As others have said, please stick around on the board.

I hope you enjoy your new life in what sounds like an idyllic, pastoral setting. Does Mass freeze your property taxes after a certain age as they do in some states? Unfortunately I was under this age in Louisiana when the parish raised my property taxes 1,000% a few years back (by reappraisal for twice what it was worth, even though the millage increase was rejected by the voters.) Because my town's property tax is indexed off the parish's tax it also increased 10 times too. It didn't help that my homeowner's insurance doubled after Katrina and my DW lost her job due to Katrina too - talk about kicking a man when he's down! My house was one of the few in the area that survived the hurricane, but not the local government's greed who wanted to raise the same revenue as before the storm from the few people who remained. I would never buy a S&B again because of this, as I fear the government could swoop in and take it whenever they see an opportunity.

I hope MA is a little kinder to its homeowners than LA is, and nothing like this ever happens to you. Anyway, I'm sure you'll have better luck with things than we did, Lucky Mike!

I believe My RV travels came to an end in August of 2012 but my traveling has not! Leaving TN to go see my Daughter and her family for Thanksgiving in Grand Rapids Mi. Hope you the best in your new setting, not sure where Dalton; Mass. is, but sounds like a great spot in New England! I live in a 5th wheel here in Lebanon Tn.; a bit bigger than I need, as I'm not Ms. Susie Homemaker! LOL!
Do drop in with some humor and updates as we all need to stay in touch! PIEERE
