Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

new to fulltime rving

Hello new to the sight and just started full time rving in eastern Colorado.  Been at it for a month now due to some family issues and some problems of my own. I have a 2010 rockwood ultra lite 30' trailer, bumper pull. Its like brand new as it has sat for a few years but got a good deal on it. Everything works mechanically, I did have to fix a lot of leaks (water) but got those done and everything seems to be good now.  It is supposed to have tank heaters it has a switch in bathroom for it just not sure what I'm looking for if they are actually there and if they work.  Any suggestions?  Happy camping!

Welcome to the Forum.

Most tank heaters are simply flat heating mats attached to the tanks.  Without turning them on and getting under the rig to put your hand on them, I don't know how to tell they are working.  The best bet is camp where they won't be necessary.  :)

We have tank heaters, and we had an RV tech check them when the underbelly was down during a repair, but I have no idea if they still work.

Happy traveling.
