Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Anyone own a 2011 Carriage Cameo? 31KSLS?

Hello everyone!  We are shopping for a fifth wheel and could not find much info about this year of Cameos and nothing about this particular model.

We are looking at model F31KSLS on the web.  It is 32 feet long and weighs 11,305 lbs dry.  It is at a dealer 3 hours from us, so we have been talking with the salesman who knows nothing about it.  We are trying to get as much info as possible so that we can determine if we need to make the drive to see it.

I have found a brochure on the web for 2011, so I know what the standard features are, but I have no idea what options this particular unit has.  I have been able to get an options list on some other 5ers with a VIN and calling the manufacturer, but since Carriage is out of biz, how can I find what options it came with?

Other questions I have:

Does anyone own this unit?

How does it feel space-wise?  Does it feel cramped?

How does this floor plan work out for fulltime living?

This unit has 1 "High Capacity" (whatever that means) A/C, 15K.  Is this A/C more powerful than a standard 15K A/C?

Is the Cameo insulated well enough to get by in hot humid climates?

Can this unit take a fireplace insert below the TV?

What truck wold we need to tow this rig?

Thanks for your help in advance!

I'm sure someone at the Carriage-Lifestyle Owners Forum will be able to give you information on that model. We like our Carriage very much. Pat K

Problem is...you have to be an owner to use that forum. I tried...would not let me join if not an owner.

I have a question about the Cameo brochures. Very confusing...is the "approximate average load capacity" the cargo capacity?

In the brochures, the 2011 31KSLS (32' 4") has a capacity of nearly 3,700 while the 2009 36FWS (36'11") has a capacity of around 1,750! How can this be?? The trailer is much longer, and yet, the load capacity (if that means cargo capacity) is half what the smaller trailer has! How can this be??

Would someone please help with this question??  Thanks in advance for your help!
