Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Win/10; Keeping Up with the Jones; Smiths or ????.

biggrinbiggrin Win/10 I'm just Lovin' It! I installed Win/10 HP on my old revived Win/8 HP that I had downgraded to Win/7 HP. Installed 8 GB RAM and a 1 TB HD so it screams. Still no home servive so use Chick-Fil-A; MCD's or the Library WiFi. Have MalwareBytes; Windows Defender and McAffee for security.

My issues with Win10 have been resolved and I'm happy now. Hated Win8, even our computer guru said it was the worst he'd ever seen. Still at the learning stage with Win10 but getting better. I haven't blown a fuse yet...

I went back to W8.1 after finding instability with W10. Support says they are working to resolve similar issues. I may try it again in few months. For now I have only one complaint with W8.1, sometimes when scrolling with the touch screen, text etc seems to blur and turn purple until you stop scrolling.  If you use the scroll bars on the sides of the page it doesn't do this. W10 did not have this issue. But I can live with it.

Now if my new external DVD drive would just load and play my old C&C games like the internal one on my old WinVista machine...noconfuse

My old Gateway that I upgraded to Win 10 went brain dead when I tried to partition the hard drive to install Linux Mint 17.2 ; I downloaded LINUX to a bootable USB stick. Shut the computer down and restarted and voila; no Win 10. and a message saying i was missing the boot loader. I remembered saving one on another USB stick and tried it along with the ISO of LINUX. I now have LINUX but no Windows. Well; another learning curve!
I still have my other 2014 Acer with Win 8.1; but feel i will also wait before upgrading to 10. I also have an antique 2005 model Acer that has Win/7 Ultimate and will leave it as Microsoft states support to 2020; I know it will die before then. Have nothing better to do with my idle time!

Right now I am using the Gateway with Linux to post this!
