Thank you!

A big thank you to Howard and Linda for putting on this event. Great information, great weather and we met a lot of great people! Does it get any better?

I agree - great info; great weather (except that one day that created the MUD); and awesome people! I'd like to add delicious food and a very exciting canoe/kayak trip!

Hope everyone keeps in touch so we can meet up again when our paths cross!

Thanks again Howard and Linda!

We send our thanks, once again, to Howard and Linda for hosting this rally. It proved to us we really can live off grid... and frugally.  At the end of the week, we had only used 2/3 of our fresh water tank! It was also great to meet up with friends we have met along the way. We had a great time!

Ditto here! Howard & Linda do such incredible work putting these rallies together. They seem to run so smoothly, but I'm sure there's so much that goes on behind the scenes that we take for granted.

It was great getting to meet everyone and again, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped us troubleshoot and fix all our many problems during the week (such as the gray tank odor, bad transfer switch, water pump and dead battery!)

And speaking for us, we had SO much fun***

We couldn't get ourselves to leave  (we had no idea where we were going next, so we arranged with the office to stay ANOTHER 10 days here...

Take a look at the site, barren, deserted (except for our Rig and Bev/Bill's rig) sitting here till next week.

empty rally site

(taken from the trash dumpsters for those that were there.

*** And learned so much too, from

  • the smell in our rig (see other thread), to
  • the Automatic Transfer Switch (between Generator and Shore Power) that DIED on the second day
  • to the Water Pump that bit the dust on the third day

and from all the new friends and helpers that got us working all week.

Also: we did use most of our fresh water, but did not even come close to filling the black tank, and I bet the grey tank could have gone another day..

And we've since learned that once we refreshed the water tanks, our grey tank can handle at LEAST 4 loads of laundry, as I haven't dumped it yet.

AND, most importantly, and contrary to what I was shown/learned from previous owner, it is NOT appropriate to dump your black tank every three days or so, but to let it FILL up as much as possible, so as much liquid goes into/out of the tank.

Again, thanks to Linda and Howard for such a great event!

Thanks so much to Howard and Linda for putting this rally together.

We all learned so much, eat too much, made many new friends, chopped lots of firewood, and learned how to go on less water!

We didn't empty our waste tanks until Wendesday night after the rally as were are now boondocking again.

Again - thanks we never see all that goes on behind the scenes to make everything happen - as usual your rallys are flawless!

A delayed thank you! Our expectations were high, but they were exceeded. We valued learning some new boondocking tips and tricks and particularly enjoyed making new friends as well as spending time with the two of you.

A fabulous rally!
