Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Getting Ready to Get Buried

Predictions of over two feet of snow beginning tonight and finishing up Wednesday morning have me severely down in the dumps. We've been so lucky this year so far and missed almost every snowstorm that I guess I was spoiled and tricked into thinking we wouldn't get hit with a huge storm this year. How wrong was I? Now it's get the generator ready. We've already beat all others that are afraid the world will run out of bread and milk by shopping very early yesterday morning and are fully stocked. I guess I'll just have to hunker down and enjoy not having to go out in the storm. Dreaming of warmer weather.

Chefmom, We have been tracking that doosie of a storm.....being originally from the northeast we are know what it is going to be like. While we are presently sitting in the desert in Quartzsite, AZ enjoying high 60's low 70's weather we will not miss what you are going to have to deal with. Sending warmth and sunshine your way. Les

Look on the bright side, at least you're not stuck in a snow storm that lasts for 4 days and dumps 6-7' of snow like the storm up by Buffalo NY in November. I'd hate to think what would happen to NYC area if they ever got 4' of snow let alone 7'!

It is raining in the Phoenix area right now and the local twitter feed is nothing but accidents all over the place. A little rain and people here can't drive! Almost as bad as being in Texas when it snows. And it is only going to get to about 74° tomorrow after the rain moves on out - don't know how we will make it through the day.

Yup. 31" of snow here in Massachusetts. Can't pull out of our driveway because we can't see past the 10' mounds on either side created by snowblowing the driveway and front walk. It's a very good thing my hubby climbed like a monkey from the roof of the house over to the tt roof in order to cover it for the winter. Fulltiming can't come soon enough. Those of you in the 70's and 80's now are the best incentive for us to get moving. I cannot wait.

My kids in NH and ME got hammered. Glad I left that part of the world!
Here in a high desert valley in western CO we have had a very mild winter. Been in the mid 20s at night and mid 40s in the daytime for the most part and forecast for more of the same. Since this is first winter for us in a cold place since we started full timing in 2002 we appreciate the mild winter here this year.

It's incredible isn't it, how motivational a monster storm can be. All I can hope is that this is the last time we'll have to make sure we can dig our way into the garage to get to the snowblower in order to be able to get out of our front door. I know it's probably not, because we have a plan in place for fulltiming that doesn't start soon, but just maybe I can convince my husband everything will still be alright if he isn't marching to the beat of a s&b homeowner and getting up everyday before 5:00 A.M. to start our trek to our respective workplaces. Meanwhile it's a crackling fire in the wood stove and a bottle of good wine and dreams of a warmer climate.

For all my friends not on the road yet, we would have been right in the middle of that this year if our house hadn't sold. Now we are in sunny Florida and it was a bit "chilly" because it only hit 65 degrees. REmember this when you get that offer on the house. We took less than we wanted so that we wouldn't have to stay another winter and I don't regret it in the slightest :)

Winter hasn't been to bad here in TN. so far but we have until mid-March to wait for. That is about the time the Spring returns here! It has been in the mid-teens a few nights, but not like weeks at a time like last year! Had a couple Dusting's of the frozen white stuff, but melted off by mid morning. The high today is 63, but returning to the 40's for the next 7-10 days and lows in the mid to upper teens by early am!
