Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Full timing in a LTV FreeSpirit SS?

For those that are unfamiliar with an LTV FreeSpirit SS, it is a Class B van built by Leisure Time Vans.

Personally, I've been in a Class B a time or two and with the images in the link above, I almost feel that they are "playing with camera lenses" to make the FreeSpirit seem larger.  I guess I need to find one of these to see if they may have actually enlarged the coach.

Personally, I cannot say I've ever even "camped" in a Class B.  However, Jo and I once spent a week in one traveling around Colorado in a full-sized custom van built by Dodge, and all I can say is thank goodness for the few nights we spent in a hotel/motel.

I just saw the LTV FreeSpirit and I am in love with it. I am looking to retire go full time summer of 2015. I am quite comfortable with downsizing big time, but I want to be realistic. Is there anyone out there fulltiming in a FreeSpirit SS that would share their experiences? Thanks, Jill

I was just in one in Hershey PA. The opening is as big as it seems. It is like living in a screened in porch. The bathroom is amazing. Biggest downside is almost no storage outside. I would have to add some kind a cargo box. It felt more open to me than the Serenity. Jill

Hi Jill, I was in Jasper [Canada, where I live] and I saw one of these. I spoke to the couple and got to see it. Verrry cool. I don't know how much downsizing you could do cause storage is limited for full time. I think if you towed a small cargo trailer you would be fine. A cargo box is o.k. but if you want to carry bbq, propane bottle, tarps,etc they do not hold too much and moving them from inside to outside every day would really bug anyone . It was very beautiful inside but does require more work to set bed up and stuff but hey at one time I lived in a tent for several months so I know it could be done and this is luxury doing it....Good luck

I am ready to downsize big time! I've thought of the cargo box and I think it would be enough. You are right about "camping" in style! I am going to use a travasak system, so all I'll do is roll up the bedding and stick in the drawer under the bed. Thanks for your reply!

We saw the Free Spirit and particularly the the other slightly larger LTV motorhomes at the recent Pomona RV show.  We were very impressed by space, quality and features of these smaller RVs.  The prices for the new ones was pretty high for the size.  But every imaginable spot you could think of for storage was used.  We liked them a lot more than the RoadTreks we saw there. 

Just not sure about the size for extended travel.  Could my wife and I want to be in there for a few rainy days?  Probably not, but it has wheels so go elsewhere!
