Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi! FT plans under active construction

I have been studying and thinking and planning to be a full timer for some time.  Retirement date is in one year.  I already eliminated house and all related accouterments 6 years ago (last storage locker emptied in July).  Family are in many parts of the country and the hope is to be spending MORE time with them but taking my own living accommodations as I am a firm believer in: "garbage and house guests need to go after 3 days".  I  have learned much from this web site and others and am excited to see that there is much more to learn.  No RV/trailer yet, still saving $$ and researching.

I am not currently in Kansas, though I have lived in Kansas several times, one of my children was born in Kansas and my folks are from Kansas.

Dorothy, welcome to the forum. This is a wonderful place to do your research and it does sound like you are well on your way having the house and contents eliminated. I was thinking last night how exhausting that last month was, clearing out stuff to sell house!

We, too, have family all over the country and plan to take advantage of many visits to say nothing of friends in so many states.

Your year will fly by. Sending you good energy for happy planning!

Sherry

Dorothy,

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  This is one of the best places I know of for getting information because the folks here have experience and knowledge about almost every form of RV.  In addition, they are friendly, helpful and encouraging.  So, feel free to ask questions and never get the idea that a question is a dumb one.  The only dumb questions are those that don't get asked and one makes an expensive mistake.

In the blue bar at the top, there is a "Search" button.  Use that to type in short search phrases and you can learn a lot, even from some pretty old postings.

As far as your "garbage and guests" leaving timeline, it would be a problem around here,  Our garbage tends to fill up in only 2 days, so I'd have to be a weekend guest only.

Terry
