Your post about your kids hits home....Our furry kids are so a part of us...They alll know what buttons to push and how to get their way everytime....I understand your loss as I lost my little boy a couple of years ago and it was no doubt the hardest thing I have ever had to do as I held him tight while they gently put him to sleep. We believe he was re-incarnated in his sister Tabby the cat (or she just picked up his bad habits!)

Just wanted to add 1 more tip. If you're going to be away from your rig all day or even overnight, you might find it useful to have a pet sitter come in & take your care of your dog. While traveling, you can check www.petsit.com for a sitter in the area where you're staying. You just click on the "Locate a Pet Sitter" button & enter the zip code where you're staying. A list of sitters for that area will be displayed.

This is a membership website for pet sitters. Typically everyone on this site is bonded & insured, & does pet sitting as a business, not just as a weekend hobby for extra money. I've had my pet sitting business for 11 yrs & I know many excellent sitters from www.petsit.com.

If you need a sitter & can't find any thru the website, you can check with local vets, dog groomers & doggie day care centers. Any of these places may be able to give you a referral to a local sitter. The vets in my town know me, know that I've been in business for a long time & do refer clients to me.

It really annoys me when people call my children "dogs". Just because they choose to wear their hair all over their body and don't annunciate their words like everyone else, they are discriminated against. That makes them no less human than some of those we meet that choose to walk on their hind legs. And before you go there, it was my choice that they drink out of a bowl. It saved me the expense of a sippy cup!

Opinions.... one brainstorm idea I had for making $$$ on the road was to maybe offer dog sitting to fellow RVer's while parked. Put a sign up, maybe make a sun shield sign for the truck, "I"ll watch your dog for the day while you sight see, $10". I work at home, so I stay in a lot. Do you think people will go for it?

Hina.....I would use your service if we ever ended up in the same park. That said, I wouldn't 'count' on making too much from this service as it is very hit and miss....

I would definitely use a service like that, especially if the local was near a large national park or some other major attraction where you want to be away for an extended day.
