Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi, Phil and I learned so much at the Harrisburg rally (remember...."her thyroid meds" answer?). Still laughing over that one ! We want to come to the Quartzsite rally (if we can make it there from Oregon in feb.). But I would just like to throw a spectacular Oregon possibility out there for a future rally if you would ever want to come to Oregon again. Maybe you've already been there.... It's Silver Falls State Park. They have a beautiful 100 site campground with full hook ups. Cabins, even ADA accessible sites and cabins. They have a stunning conference center and a historic lodge (built by the CCC in the 1930's) that could be used for seminar talks. Lots of dog friendly trails and also a drop dead 8 mile hike around and through and under 10 waterfalls. It is a truly wonderful and serene place. Thanks so much for the suggestion.  We would LOVE to have a rally at a state park and we'll give Silver Falls State Park a look.  However, the biggest issue with state parks is reserving the sites in advance.  They aren't quite as flexible in allowing us to block off a number of sites without a huge upfront deposit.  But we'll see.  smile

Great idea!! I do happen to know this particular state park is open to classes, events, etc. that some state parks wouldn't even consider. 2 of our professional photography artist friends regularly conduct classes, seminars, photo instruction in this park. And yes, one of the pieces of artwork we have to part with when we start the full timing life will be a wonderful picture taken at their falls. Sigh, I can just hear Howard now from the Rally reminding us there are lots of trade offs.....

Well, you piqued my interest with the mention of so many falls in the area, so I googled for the state park itself and found this link:

Silver Falls State Park

I'm going to have to put this one on a list of must-see's.  Can one do the 8 mile hike on bicycles?  As old as Jo and I are, I'm not sure an 8 mile hike is in our capabilities.  (Well, if we lost some weight, we might.)

EDIT:  Never mind.  I just read where bicycles are NOT allowed, along with other things as well as pets.

But there are many bike trails at the park. Donna and I have a great time campoing there. Beautiful.
