Diane loves to make desserts, so that is what we will bring.

Edit: Now what she will make, I have no idea.  It will be decadent.  She normally makes pies, sometimes more than one.

Can't wait. Our house goes on the market tomorrow, fingers crossed. Hank will make his famous smoked baby back ribs. That upside -down salsa cornbread sounds really interesting, hope that's what shows up.

Oh oh, sorry Hank & Ann (& Linda),

Foolishly I posted a main dish that I had never tried but read rave reviews for. Decided I better try it last night and not experiment on you all so I made the Upside down salsa cornbread and it was o.k. But not great! Back to the drawing board. Linda, please tell me which you would prefer as we seem light in a couple of categories:

A couple of Summer Fruit Galettes (awesome desert)
A Cilantro Slaw (healthy choice for those who like cilantro)
Calico Beans (4 Kinds of beans w/bacon & gr. beef)

All tried and true and terrific.

Hank & Ann, I'll will (& bring) copy of the upside down for you! ; )

An aside, Jesse & I have been together 3 years and married in a "trailer trash" wedding this spring.
While we were discussing this last evening when he told me about 2 different recipes he used to make where he was told not to come back without them......he's been holding out on me because I didn't even know he could cook!!

Sherry and Jesse,

Congratulatons on the wedding in the spring.  However, you are now going to have to answer the question that may now be on many minds, "What is a "trailer trash" wedding?"

Jo and I have been married for over 43 years, and this is the first time I've heard that phrase used for a wedding.  I guess I have to wonder if you consider yourselves "trailer trash" or did you trash a trailer as a part of the ceremony?  (I think I see the plans now for a new reality show.....)  (By the way, we may all live in trailers or some other form of RV, but I would never consider anyone as "trailer trash.")

Terry

Hi Terry & Jo,

At the time we had a travel trailer, stayed at a campground in Apache Junction with friends in their motor home and others in a travel trailer. Our hosts who did our wedding breakfast used pink flamingos as the theme. We were married by a minister in a lovely park and signed our papers on the back gate of a pick up. Even found an Elvis Chapel and had our (profile) picture taken with Elvis. Souns like a trailer trash wedding to us. : ) make no mistake, we are seriously and happily married.

Congratulations on 43 years!

Sherry & Jesse PS Sorry we got off topic

OK, back to the topic of food:)

Dale and I will bring a spinach salad, normally I'd plan something that requires a little more preparation but I'm not going to be able to take the entire week off work so need something simple to plan around my work schedule.

We are coming in our popup and have very limited refrigerator space but I came across a recipe that I think will work, so put us down for Cumin-Lime Confetti Salad.

Linda & Howard,

Change of plans for Harry & I - Will be coming in on Monday early afternoon instead of Tuesday afternoon. If you need any volunteers we will be around. I will also bring a Main Dish - I see you need 2 more - Sloppy Joes if needed. I will make ahead and freeze and bring along my Crockpot to keep hot during Potluck. We are busy preparing for our trip. See you on Monday!!

For those who wondered why we did not have a gas oven during the open house I realized later that I should have pointed out the key lime pie for the potluck was baked in our Breville Smart Oven but Diane had made it using our convection/microwave before we bought the Breville.
