Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Just finished first week volunteering

We finished our first week of three volunteering with the NOMADS at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville TX.   What a week it has been.   Phyllis power washed a deck, sidewalks and buildings.  Leonard repaired exhaust vents over the science lab and other misc. electrical work.

This is a great assignment.  We not only have free hook ups for the three weeks but also free use of the laundry and the college provides us with ALL meals.  So three weeks of no cooking, no grocery shopping, no dishes.   This is getting tough on the waistlines though.

As always, NOMADS work 5-6 hours a day Monday though Thursday.  We find that not being used to such physical labor, they were wise to give us 3 day weekends.

Our next project will be in El Dorado Springs, Missouri starting April 26.   Looking forward to the challenge.

wowee! don't think your waistlines will have a chance to suffer with all that hard work!  Power washing sounds kind of fun though -- was it?

Once we actually get on the road (John's doing some work on the rv right now), we're going to explore work and volunteer opportunities, as well as virtual work.  So far we've not seen much, but I figure if I read these forums enough we'll figure out how to find them.

That sounds like a cool gig, and no cooking for three weeks??? Wow!

Phylis and Len, We're so happy that y'all found your first Nomad project very positive. We have enjoyed working on all of projects. We finished a building for Teen Challenge in Midland Texas and are now working on a church build near Phoenix Az. We plan on working on a church build in Oregon this summer. We hope your volunteer opprotunity in Missouri this summer will also be a positive experience. Hope to see you again.

God bless,
Allan and Jeanne
