Rally Volunteers

Hey all you 2009 Rally attendees!  Time is approaching fast!  We are getting really excited!

It is time to start planning some details and I need some volunteers.

1.  Potluck Coordinator - start a post in the forum for people to sign up to bring a dish.  Make sure we get a good mixture of dishes in different catagories.
Main Dish
Salad
Side Dish
Bread
Dessert
Plates/Utensils/Napkins (we don't need much of these as we will tell everyone to bring their own, there will be a few attendees that will stay in hotels)

Coordinate the set up of food dishes the night of the potluck.

2.  Chili Cookoff Coordinator - start a post in the forum for people to sign up to enter into the cookoff.  Select 5 people who are not entering the cookoff to be "Judges".  Determine and establish the rules.  Coordinate how the judging and the meal will be served.

3.  Clean up Coordinator - select a crew, organize and assist in the clean up after the potluck and the chili cookoff.  This would include, but not limited to bagging trash and removal, cleaning tables, moving tables as necessary, and moving chairs.

I am sure there will be other things I need volunteers for so check back to this post often.

Important: When starting a post for the rally, please remember to post it in the 2009 RV-Dreams Rally Catagory.

Hey Linda,
We'll coordinate the clean up.    We did this very thing for about 4 years at our church's weekly potluck supper.

Anyone who wants to help with clean up, please email us at gailbrogdon@gmail.com  or leave a post here.

Dan and Gail:

My wife says I'm not much of a leader, but I take direction pretty well. I'm happy to help with clean-up provided leadership is not required and directions are specific!

See you in Texas.

Linda ~

Tracy and I will be glad to help organize the potluck if you can give us some guidance as to what needs to be done.  Your original post mentioned posting a request in the forum and tracking the responses.  How far in advance should we start?  Anything else we need to be aware of besides making sure we don't end up with all desserts (although would that be so bad?) ?

Thank you so much for volunteering Connie & Tracy!  We won't have the final numbers until Sept. 1st so you don't need to start the thread until then.

Here is a link to last years thread:  http://rv-dreams.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=91511&p=3&topicID=14057442

The volunteers last year paved the way for you.  Don't stress over this at all.  You know how Pot Lucks always seem to work out fine.

Thanks again for your help.  I will get back to you about the numbers the first part of Sept. and then you can start a thread.

Do you have a chili cook-off coordinator yet? If not put us down.

Hey John & Bridgett,

Thank you so much for volunteering!  Please start a thread to get people to sign up to bring a pot of Chili.  Then you will also need to pick 5 people to be judges.

It would also be nice if you can get people to bring Chili toppings such as:  Cheese, Onion, Crackers, etc.

Let me know if you have any questions thus far.

We should have a final count of the number of attendees by Sept. 1st.
