Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

DOG MISSES MOM

I did not realize how attached dogs get to a person. I'm traveling with two furry buddies- Spike, a Brown/red Minature Poodle, five months old and Coco, Chocolate Lab, four years old. (see avitar)

Coco is very attached to me. She could be with DW a if I'm gone will cry and look for me.
Spike has been seperated from DW for two days and when he heard her voice over the phone he went running to windows and the door looking for her. Once he realized that the voice was comming from the phone he sat by me and looked into the phone. Now when ever I pick up the phone he is on my lap and listens to who is on the phone.

They do get very attached. Our larger dog, Rio is more attached to DH while the little one is more attached to me. The larger one sits by the RV door if DH leaves in the truck until he comes back.  The one attached to me, Rahma, when we come back with the truck he runs out of the RV until he sees me then he runs back  into the RV waiting for me to come in. Its like once he sees I am back its ok with him. They do miss theyre mom and dads!

Labs have been known to chew through fences or dig under if they think they've "lost" their human. Amazing dogs but you don't own them, you are THEIRS! My favorite breed. It helped our Roxi when I got an old pillow and slept with it for a week or so then gave it to her to lay on while I was gone. My smell seemed to comfort her greatly, you might try that.
