Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Saving Money on Prescripion Eyeglasses

A few days ago I came across an article in the Chicago Tribune about several web sites that permit you to order prescription glasses. The cost savings are mind boggling.

I saved $150 over the price at Costco. Wow.

Rather than make this a plug for a specific company, if you go to glasseyes.blogspot.com you can read about the companies and decide for your self. I also got a pair of Rx reading glasses for just uner $15 including S&H.

At these prices one can easily order several pair -- especially if you are llike me and keep forgetting where you last put your glasses. biggrin

Hey Fox,  It sounds like you have to put your glasses on just to find your glasses.  Anywhooo, thanks for the info - I'll check it out since I need a new pair of reading glasses.  Hope you find yours.  Darrell

Are you sure you gave the right address? I went to that site but it was nothing about glasses.

If you're ever in the Yuma, AZ area you can head just back into California on I-8, to the exit to Los Algodones, Mexico.  There are several places in Los Algodones where you can get new glasses.  They will give you an exam, or you can take your Prescription from home and they will make you new glasses.  On our last trip 2 yrs. ago we got 2 pr. of Rx sunglasses (one tri-focals, the other bi-focals) and 1 pair of bi-focal transition lenses and frames for all - for $160.  We're going back this fall to get some new ones as our Rx has changed.

I got my bi-focals, with 100% UV protection, and tinting at the top, at Walmart for $79..   It all depends on which frames you buy, that is where they make their money.   Penny.biggrin

I buy my frames from Eyesave.som. I like their prices and they had the Serengeti frames that I like. So far so good.
