Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are looking at a 2004 Newmar DS DP and would like to have it inspected by an independent before we go any further in negotiations. When we were in boating, it was called a Survey and was done by trained Surveyors. Does anyone know how we go about finding someone to inspect and certify a MH? We live in the central Florida area. Need info ASAP.

Likewise, I came from the boating community. Certified RV Techs are the guys to "survey" an RV.
I would call independent RV repair facilities and ask if they have a Certified RV Tech. The process would be quite similar to a "survey" listing the serviceability (soundness) of the various systems on the RV. Shortcomings would be noted with a fair cost of repair. At the end, a statement of "soundness" should be provided.
I suggest you as to see their certification and make sure they are not trying to drum up repair work. A certified tech almost always would not.

Thanks Roz for the info. Do you think our "wander lust" came from our previous boating lives???? I'm sure it had something to do with it. A lot of the verbiage and system terminology is the same isn't it? ie: shore power Our last boat was a 36' SeaRay called "Fly Buoy IV"...hence our user name...Fly Buoy V (for the MH)
If anyone has a Certified RV Tech in the Central FL area that they would recommend, please let us know.

My memory serving me correct from previous posts, you are living in the Villages. Being a relatively populated area with RVs, I would check the Yellow Pages for RV Service. An idependent will advertise he is "Certified".
Good luck! Let me know what you find and end up doing.
